This session will address the life cycle impact of materials and share information that will help participants transform their supply chains, achieve important certifications like TRUE and LEED and move their organizations forward, while reducing the environmental impact of their operations, cutting costs and addressing the important needs of their clients.
Ten Trends in Greening University Campuses
Thursday, Sept. 28, 2–3 p.m.
Presented in an engaging, interactive game show format, this session will inform participants of the latest topics of concern, conversation and action among leadership, sustainability offices, facilities departments, faculty, staff and students related to higher education campus facilities and operations, with a particular focus on the University of Southern California and the University of California campuses.
Triple Platinum and Triple Zero—Certification as a Key to San Francisco International Airport’s Sustainability Leadership
Thursday, Sept. 28, 2–3 p.m.
Let’s imagine an airport that has a triple zero goal (net zero energy, zero waste and carbon neutrality) plus improved human health—and that it uses these goals to strive for triple Platinum certifications. In 2022, the San Francisco International Airport achieved three Platinum firsts: LEED for Cities and Communities for the entire airport campus under LEED v4.1, LEED v4 for Building Design and Construction for the new Harvey Milk Terminal 1 Boarding Area B facility, and WELL Core Platinum certification for Boarding Area B.
